Play education is a big deal for littles! Does your schedule allow for free play?

Whether you're a brand new teacher, or a teacher moving grade levels -- I'm sure you don't have a ton of toys laying around waiting to be played with. One of the first things I started thinking about was what types of toys are developmentally appropriate for 4-5 year olds? And how much is this going to cost me?

Below I've listed some toys that are perfect for your TK cuties. I highly recommend bargain hunting before spending hundreds of dollars on brand new toys. I was lucky to get a lot of toys free or discounted from my local community through "buy nothing" groups and Offer Up. Some things I did purchase new -- I'll get more into specifics on another post!

  • Play Kitchen equipped with dinnerware and food

  • Market Stand (can be changed out with so many fun themes... more on that later!)

  • Wooden Building Blocks

  • Cars, Trucks, Trains, Planes

  • Wooden Train Set

  • Dollhouse, Barn

  • Dolls

  • Action Figures

  • Animal toys/figurines

  • Stuffed Animals

  • Lego Duplo or Classic

  • Magnatiles

  • Playdoh & Tools

  • Puzzles

What other toys do you have/want for your classroom?!
